PROGRAM NOTES
This solo work was composed as an exercise in borrowing for a course taught by Anthony Kelley at Duke University where I am currently working towards a PhD in music composition. This work incorporates three of my favorite works: The "Nimrod" variation from the Enigma Variations by Edward Elgar, Brahms' Intermezzo Op. 118, No. 2 in A major, and Bright Blue Music by Michael Torke.
