Concert Guild presents:
It’s Complicated: songs & scenes on relationships…
Wilson Concert Hall, 21 January 2023
The pandemic brought everything to a halt for all of us. During the shutdown, I created my second full-length opera. Alice, An Operatic Wonderland which saw its staged workshop premiere in January of 2022 in the historic Maguire Theater in Elizabeth City, NC to two sold-out audiences. Alice will have its festival premiere this upcoming July (2023) at the Red River Festival, Directed by Grace Edgar and conducted by Kristin Roach.
A Severed Chord was created with playwright, author, and Broadway star, Jeff Shankley to benefit the Grey Team in Florida, an organization whose mission it is to support war veterans and work to prevent suicide. Jeff and I are expanding the work into a full-length opera entitled Delirum.
I partnered with Kelly Balmaceda and best-selling author, Lisa McCourt. I created a musical setting of Lisa's popular children's book, "I Love You, Stinky Face" which will be premiered at the Baramoff Theater in Safety Harbor, Florida this upcoming February. For tickets and information, click here.
In late January, a new work composed for Scott Williiamson, a setting of Amy Lowell's poem, "Listening," will be premiered at Washington and Lee University.
In the summer of 2023, I'll begin work on my first feature length film.
I'm excited to delve into film composing (a dream from childhood.)
